Apple has published new advertising rules for its upcoming Apple Maps ads, revealing a more selective approach to local advertising than Google. The policy bans a broad range of home services businesses, including plumbing, electrical, locksmith, HVAC, pest control, roofing and general contracting companies. Apple has not yet announced an exact launch date for Maps ads. The company previously said the service would arrive “this summer” in the U.S. and Canada, while newly published advertiser documentation suggests the rollout is getting closer.
